It’s been an exciting journey so far – building up to the release of the Love Italy EP, traveling to Italy to spread the word, and watching the feedback and press roll in… we’ve had some pretty exciting happenings thus far – including our front-page story in our local Xperience monthly and feature stories in The Florentine and Live Venice. So, today we’re absolutely thrilled to announce another fantastic bit of news:
Premiering this Saturday, November 26th, and airing twice a day for a full week, the single “Roma” will be included in legendary music journalist Ben Fong-Torres’ personal radio show on Moonalice Radio!
Ben Fong-Torres was a journalist and senior editor at Rolling Stone magazine back in the sixties and seventies, profiling classic rock and soul greats like McCartney, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Linda Ronstadt, Marvin Gaye, and many others. He was also a rock DJ in the 70’s for San Francisco radio station KSAN-FM, and in the 2000 film Almost Famous, a fictional version of Fong-Torres is the lead character William Miller’s editor at Rolling Stone.
Last year, the documentary “Like a Rolling Stone: The Life & Times of Ben Fong-Torres” was released on Netflix. It’s fantastic! Be sure to check it out.
Moonalice Radio is one of Ben’s more recent projects; He’s the Program Director of the free-form San Fransisco-based station, which features Moonalice band members (Pete Sears, Barry Sless, Roger McNamee, & John Molo) and their favorite songs, in addition to a wide variety of music – old and new – all representing the spirit of the 60’s.
So, you can see why we’re so excited and honored that “Roma” – the second single released off the Love Italy EP – will be included in Fong-Torres’ radio show beginning this Saturday! Be sure to tune in!
