Roma (Single)

The second single on the Love Italy EP, “Roma” is a stripped-down groove that gives Dylan-esque vibes. Louis Emory recalls:

“I thought it was a single from the moment I heard it. That groove hit and it was off to the races. It came together in the studio in one afternoon. Bob, Tim and I were really excited—and you can hear that excitement on the track.”

In writing the lyrics, Emory wanted to capture the energy of the Eternal City, paying homage to the jaw-dropping architecture, Vitruvius, Caesar and the “shot of adrenaline I get every time I’m in the city.” Emory also wanted to honor the pilgrims who make the journey to St. Peter’s Basilica in search of peace and healing.

“There’s something about walking the ancient streets layered with centuries of history, interwoven with a vibrant, modern city,” Emory said. “I wanted to try to capture that feeling.”
